Student Fees

 

U of T pharmacy students pay a small semesterly fee, which directly funds all extracurricular events and initiatives associated with UPS and CAPSI, and Graduation Events as outlined above. We encourage you to remain opted in to ensure we can continue to serve you to the best of our abilities, and to continue to provide you with opportunities that enrich your experience as students and as developing professionals. If you are considering opting out please note that opting-out for a given semester is not reversible, and we may request proof of payment in order to access certain benefits.

 

Society Fee

  • Opting out of the society fee may result in the following:
    • A markup on UPS ticket events (Phollies, Semi Formal), and a loss of eligibility for UPS funded conference subsidies (OPA/PXP, PDW, OPSIS) as well as UPS Awards & Grants.
    • Loss of eligibility to run in UPS or Class Council Elections, however you still retain your right to vote in elections.
  • Opting out will not affect access to:
    • General social & athletic events, intramurals, lunch & learns, monograph, pharmakon & yearbook, conference and exchange subsidies funded via Shaping Student Life and Learning, or holding club executive positions.

 

CAPSI Fee

  • By opting out, you will renounce your status as a CAPSI, IPSF, and Canadian Pharmacists Association (CPhA) member, and will no longer have access to the following: 
    • CAPSI competitions/awards, Professional Development Week (PDW), Student Exchange Programme, mock OSCEs, free agendas, continuing professional development programs, and textbooks/Staples/PEBC preparatory material discounts.

 

Graduation Events

  • Opting out of this fund may result in restrictions including, but not limited to: 
    • A markup on tickets to the graduation formal proportional to the number of years the individual has opted out, and other class council-run events.
